New Kicks

The boys got new sneakers tonight. They are awesome! The front tab glows neon green with every motion! Carter loves them and Eli, always idolizing his brother, chose the same pair. Thank you so much, Mimi and Poppy for the cool kicks.

Oh Bumblebee!

We were lucky enough to be gifted tickets to the LV auto show (thanks Mimi!) and the boys loved it. They enjoyed getting in and out of the cars, especially the flashier models. Carter was so excited when he found Bumblebee (you'll notice his face in the background) and sat diligently by this Camaro's side waiting for his favorite Transformer to turn into a robot. Sadly, after a 20 minute wait Carter realized that he wouldn't be seeing Bumblebee in robot form because there were too many people that wanted to sit in him...and so we moved onto a Corvette!

New Yorker at Heart

I found Carter one night last week, studying his NYC subway map before bed. When I asked what he was doing, he replied, "planning my next New York trip, Mom!" I figured it was best to leave him with his map and whispers of the transit museum and Grand Central Station.

It's a Boy!

Christopher and Krista welcomed a beautiful baby boy today! Arriving right on his due date, Colin William Lansek weighed 8lbs. 1oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long! Brian and I are so excited since it is our first time becoming an uncle and an aunt. Carter and Elijah are thrilled to be cousins to little Colin and can't wait to show him the ropes. Congratulations and we can't wait to meet you little one!

First Buzz of the Season

The boys got their first "official" buzz cuts of the 2010 season. Temps reaching the 70's and beautiful sunshine have put us all in Spring Fever mode. Looking forward to shaking off the Winter blahs and enjoying some warmth!

Spring Tease

The warm weather and sunshine was a wonderful treat and we enjoyed every minute we could outside. We spent an afternoon at Minsi Lake one day. Even though there was still some snow and the lake was still very frozen, it was still warm enough to use a BBQ and enjoy a nice little picnic. After lunch we explored around the lake and "skipped" stones across the frozen surface.

Later in the week we enjoyed a long walk on the path. Everywhere there were small signs of spring...a pussy willow tree in full bloom, columbine sprouting and tiny ferns clinging to rocks and showing green fronds. Ducks and birds happily quacked and sang in the sunshine. We took McGraw along and all had a great time!

Dad's Breakfast

Carter and Elijah had their Dad's Breakfast at school this past Wednesday. The boys worked for a couple weeks on special crafts and gifts for Brian and along with all their classmates sang special songs to the Dads. Brian really enjoyed the morning with his special guys. Here are some pictures that I snapped of my best boys all dressed and ready to go!

Conductor and Engineer

We spent a day hanging around Jim Thorpe about two weeks ago. We had fun exploring the town and checking out some trains. These two are so darn cute, I can't stand it!

Happy Birthday, Nanny!

Last Saturday was our Nanny's birthday. We celebrated with a family dinner and cake! The boys loved singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles on the cake! We hope you had a fantastic birthday, Nanny! We love you very much!

It's Official

It is official! This week we enrolled Carter into kindergarten for September. He is so excited to ride in the school bus and see his friends Joey and Mallory. Another plus is that in the last few weeks we discovered that two of his friends from pre-school will also be going to the same elementary school. I feel a wave of emotions as Carter continues to grow and flourish. Brian and I are so proud of our boy and so the journey continues.

More Snow

The second of the two snow storms didn't leave as much accumulation but we had large snow drifts. Carter loved playing in them and Elijah preferred to stay mostly inside after this storm. He was a bit freaked out by the height of the drifts.
We came into the kitchen to find this huge drift on our back deck.
Digging out.

Playing in the drifts.

Even the pond was 'snowed in'.
So happy. So adorable.

Steamtown

Several weeks ago Brian and I took the boys to Steamtown right in Scranton. It's crazy that we live so close to this fantastic museum centered around an operating train yard and we have never been there. We picked a day in the middle of the week which allowed us to have the whole place to ourselves. The boys, especially Carter, loved it!

Entering the museum and already overwhelmed with the number of trains that surrounded us.

This particular train was cut open on the one side to follow all the pipes and parts that make the train GO! Pretty cool.
Outside on the turntable.
This was inside the roundhouse which is still in operation. The day we were there several trains were inside being refurbished.

Old postal train. Completely awesome. The pigeon holes that held long ago mail still had the original recipient names attached.
Yes he is yelling "ALL ABOARD"!!
My favorite guys.
Carter loved the museum and all the interesting facts and pictures that it offered.
The railway outside of the museum has engines and cars everywhere. These are just a few pictures that I took.

The Springtime will offer train rides leaving right from the above turntable. Anyone who is interested in a train ride should let us know. The more the merrier for any train adventure!
