A Bird Named Hawk.

Last week was a crazy mowing week for Brian as he tried to play catch up with all the rain that had fallen. I decided to help out and mow our lawn at home....one less lawn for Brian to take care of....seemed like a great idea. As I was walking along enjoying the sweet smell of fresh cut grass and the beautiful breeze, I saw something shoot out from underneath the mower...a tiny baby bird. I picked up the little bird and set him in our Burning Bush out front.....he was scared but seemed fine except for a patch of feathers that had been lost. The boys and I named him Hawk, as in Mohawk, and enjoyed watching his mother come and feed him for the rest of the afternoon. By evening we had all seemed to recover from Hawk's misfortune and he happily flew off to enjoy his new independence. For those of you wondering.....this is not one of the baby birds that hatched in our porch baskets. All four of those babies are in the nest and should be ready to go any day now.
