Hingy the Squirrel

This is Hingy the Squirrel (Carter named him....we have no clue where he came up with such a name) and he is our new friend. We had gotten some corn stalks to decorate the porch but before we put them up the squirrels were enjoying the corn. Carter thought it would be nice to put the corn in a bowl (because everyone knows squirrels are quite refined and domesticated) on the front porch. As you can see Hingy is special because his tail is a little bit short....this is how we keep track of his visits. Everyday we wait for Hingy to come and then we quietly sneak to the front door and watch him enjoy a nice snack. Carter also loves watching him bury the corn all over the front yard and I explained that Hingy is getting ready for Winter and storing his food. The way he has been hiding food indicates a long, cold winter....let's hope Hingy is just an over cautious squirrel!
